UN Standing Committee on Nutrition (SCN) News

SCN News is a periodic review of developments in international nutrition compiled from information available to the SCN. SCN News aims to help the sharing of experience in nutrition and is now published twice yearly. SCN also sends out a monthly email update.

New and Noteworthy in Nutrition (NNN)

NNN is an e-newsletter published twice yearly by the Population Reference Bureau, designed to enhance learning opportunities in nutrition and to complement SCN News.

Field Exchange

Field Exchange is a tri-annual magazine published by the Emergency Nutrition Network (ENN) containing field articles, research and news pieces for those working in emergency nutrition and food security.

Countdown to 2015: Maternal, newborn and child survival

Countdown to 2015 is a website dedicated to tracking progress towards MDGs 1, 4 and 5 and to promoting evidence-based information for better health investments and decisions by policy-makers regarding health needs at the country level.

Eldis

Eldis aims to share the best in development, policy, practice and research and has an informative section on malnutrition.

Emergency Nutrition Network

ENN aims to improve effectiveness of emergency food and nutrition interventions through identification and dissemination of lessons learnt and through research and evaluation. The ENN website also has a dedicated section for Infant Feeding in Emergencies.

Ending child hunger

Ending Child Hunger is a blog that summarises developments in global child hunger and undernutrition.

Food and Nutrition Technical Assistance Project (FANTA)

FANTA supports integrated food security and nutrition programming by providing analyses for food security and nutrition policy development, sharing information and providing technical assistance to improve program design, monitoring and evaluation. Resources are shared through FANTA’s website.

Global Breastfeeding

Global Breastfeeding is a website run by Ted Greiner to share his and others’ research and information on breastfeeding.

Health Systems Action Network (HSAN)

HSAN provides a platform for health systems stakeholders to exchange ideas and increase understanding of strong health systems needed to achieve health priorities. Through its website HSAN provides a global network of health systems leaders and a channel for members to offer input into global and donor initiatives so that programs best serve country priorities.

International Food Policy Research Institute

The International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI) seeks sustainable solutions for ending hunger and poverty through scientific research and policy development in food, agriculture and nutrition. The IFPRI website provides links to relevant research and data.

ProNUTRITION is an information resource for nutrition. The website has a discussion forums, newsletters, on-line documents and links to websites, guidelines and assessment tools.

United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF)

The nutrition section on the UNICEF website provides up to date press releases, reports and other information.

World Health Organisation (WHO)

The nutrition section of the WHO website provides links to up to date technical information, policy and publications on nutrition.
