Nutritional recovery in HIV infected and uninfected children with severe acute malnutrition

Nutritional recovery has been found to be similar between HIV infected and uninfected children who survived SAM.
This study sought o explore nutritional recovery in HIV infected and uninfected children during in-patient nutrition rehabilitation and follow-up.
Fergusson and colleagues found that the HIV infected chidren with SAM had higher mortlity rates than the uninfeced chilren. Among those who survived however, nutritonal recovery was similar in both HIV infected and uninfected children.
